Soy milk is available in most supermarkets and every health food store. It comes flavored and unflavored. I prefer vanilla-flavored. If you are allergic to soy, substitute rice milk.

  • 1/3 cup soy milk (preferably vanilla-flavored)
  • ½ cup mango nectar
  • 1 cup ice
  • 2 tablespoons apricot jam
  • ½ banana, peeled and broken into pieces

Combine all the ingredients in a blender. Cover and pulse on and off until the mixture starts to swirl evenly. Blend on high for 20 seconds, or until the drink is completely smooth.


LITTLE SOY BLUE Add ½ cup semifrozen blueberries before blending.

MANGO SOY MELBA Add ¼ cup semifrozen raspberries before blending.

STRAWBERRY SOY SMOOTHIE Add 6 semifrozen strawberries before blending.

Spiked Variation

SOY SAUCE Add 2 ounces white rum or vodka to the main recipe or any of the variations.
