Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 cup mashed bananas

Optional:

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a large bowl sift the salt, baking powder, baking soda, and flour. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar.

Beat the egg just a bit and then add to the butter mixture along with the bananas.

Blend in the dry ingredients until just combined.

Stir in the nuts and milk. Spread in the loaf pan.

Bake until golden brown and the bread cracks along with top. Makes 1 loaf.
